Meet Hazel Coulson, owner of luxury dog accessory retailer, Urban Pooch.

As a dog owner herself Hazel Coulson struggled to find good quality products that were a little bit different for her Blue French Bulldog, Ivy... so she decided to open a business and sell just that. 

​

Urban Pooch at Amble Harbour Village opened seven years ago and sells luxury dog accessories from dog collars to dog beer and even dog ice cream! 

​

Hazel said: “There just wasn’t anywhere locally where we could find that something a bit different for Ivy, so I thought why not set something up myself. 

​

“We try and follow the latest doggy trends and stock national brands such as Cath Kidston and Joules.” 

​

Despite a challenging last year Hazel is looking forward to welcoming visitors and holidaymakers back to the area. 

“I’m hoping it’s going to be a busy summer for us as many people choose to stay in the UK for their holiday. It’s such a lovely atmosphere at the Harbour Village and everyone who supports the businesses here knows they helping to put something back into the local area.”
